I first learned about Michael Page through a colleague and friend who was one of the firm's pioneers. Being considered for a role, especially during the pandemic when so many were facing job uncertainties, was something I was truly grateful for. From my very first interaction, I felt valued for the expertise I could bring to the Healthcare and Life Sciences discipline, as well as the best practices I had developed over my five-plus years in internal recruitment and headhunting. Fast forward to this day, four years of tenure within the organization, I have never regretted my decision to join, and I take pride in growing alongside the Philippines office.

What attracted you to a career in recruitment?

I was drawn to recruitment because it offers endless opportunities to learn from people with diverse backgrounds, career paths, and perspectives. Every conversation is a chance to gain insights into different industries, leadership styles, and market trends. I find it incredibly fulfilling to use that knowledge to help professionals navigate their career milestones, just as I would have wanted for myself when I first graduated and faced career transitions. The continuous learning, combined with the ability to make a meaningful impact on both employers and job seekers, keeps me inspired every day.

How do you navigate your career at PageGroup while balancing parenthood, and what forms of support have been most impactful in your journey?

Balancing a career at PageGroup while being a parent is both a challenge and a privilege. It requires adaptability, strong time management, and the ability to set clear priorities. What has been most impactful in my journey is the incredible support system within the company - whether it’s the culture of flexibility, understanding leadership team, or the camaraderie among colleagues who share similar experiences.

PageGroup fosters an environment where performance is valued over mere presence, allowing me to excel in my career without compromising precious moments with my family. The emphasis on professional growth, mentorship, and well-being has been instrumental in helping me navigate both work and parenthood with confidence. Knowing that I am supported in both aspects of my life keeps me motivated to give my best every day.

What advice would you offer to working mothers preparing to re-enter the workforce?

To working mothers re-entering the workforce, trust in your skills and the value you bring - both as a professional and as a parent. Acknowledge the strengths you've gained through motherhood, such as resilience, multitasking, and problem-solving. Set realistic expectations and seek a supportive work environment that values flexibility. Don’t hesitate to network, upskill, and lean on mentors or fellow working parents for guidance. Most importantly, be kind to yourself; finding balance takes time, but you are more capable than you think.
